The Republican Party of Pennsylvania
The Republican Party of Pennsylvania has a rich history that dates back to 1854 when politician and activist David Wilmot met with friends in his home to begin a series of Republican clubs throughout the state. Our proud history in the Republican Party also includes the hosting of the very first party convention in Pittsburgh in 1856. David Wilmot also served as the first Chairman of the Republican Party.
Today, our party is headquartered in Harrisburg and continues to evolve as technology and the world does. The Pennsylvania Republican Party has organizations in every county state wide and elected officials in every level of government.
The Republican Party of Pennsylvania is led by Chairman Rob Gleason and Gov. Tom Corbett.
